Service & Workflow Procedure
We have extensive knowledge in dealing with insurance claims and are
flexible to our clients' requirements in terms of the level of service
required.
We are a multi-disciplinary practice offering design, general building
surveying, building control services as well as acting as party wall
surveyors.
- On notification of a loss, we immediately contact the policyholder
by telephone and arrange a meeting.
- At our site visit, we will provide a photographic survey and report
if necessary on policy liability and extent of insured works before
proceeding.
- If approval to proceed is accepted, we will advise and provide
services as necessary on damage limitation in order to prevent
deterioration to a property and keep costs to a minimum.
- We will prepare schedules of work detailing insured and non-insured
works and will provide budget costs on notional reinstatement as per the
terms and conditions of the insurance policy.
- Documentation will be prepared as required in order to obtain
competitive tenders for the work.
- Site inspection visits are made as deemed necessary by our contract
administrator to check on the contractor's reasonable compliance with
the tender documents. Photographic survey updates can also be
provided and uploaded on the Internet with its own unique reference for
access in order for an insurer / loss adjuster to be updated with a
visual remote access.
- Cost control is strictly monitored to ensure the correct levels of
payment are made against valuation certificates issued.
- Final account preparation and the adjustment of the contract sum are
produced.
In respect of commercial losses, where business interruption claims are
made separate discussions will take place concerning the split on a
contract where normal/overtime working is carried out in order for the
client to resume business as quickly as possible. We particularly
specialise in fast-track reinstatement in order to minimise the effects on
turnover providing costs expended are within the economic limit of the
business interruption cover.
